Leaders Online Desk: The research magazine 'Asian Scientist' published from Singapore has announced the list of 100 best researchers in the Asian continent. This list includes 5 Marathi researchers. This list announced on the eve of Gudi Padwa has become a source of pride for the entire Maharashtra. This magazine has been releasing this list every year since 2016.
This list includes 3 researchers from Mumbai, 1 from Pune and one from Akola. In this list, Padma Shri Award winner Dr. G. D. Yadav included. Yadav is considered a legendary researcher in chemistry. He is the former Vice-Chancellor of the renowned Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Yadav is originally from Kolhapur. (Marathi Researcher)
The same list includes Nissim Kanekar and Vidita Vaidya, researchers at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai. Kanekar conducts research in aerospace and astronomy. He has received Infosys Award 2022. While Vaidya has received Infosys Award 2022, Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Award 2015. She does research in the field of life sciences.
Ravindra Kulkarni, who is included in this list, is from Pune. He is the founder of Elkay Chemicals. He is serving as an International Fellow at the US National Academy of Engineering.
Mathematician Mahesh Kakkade is included in this list. Mahesh Kakkade works at the Indian Institute of Science. They are originally from Akola. Kakade has received Infosys Award 2022.
