Marathi library to be seen in Mauritius now; Gift of 500 books from Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad leader

Marathi language library will now be seen in Mauritius. A total of 5 thousand books will be given to Komsap and 500 books have been sent to Mauritius.

The 17th International Marathi Literary Conference organized under the Kokan Marathi Sahitya Parishad and Marathi Speaking Union Mauritius in collaboration with Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation, Mauritius Marathi Culture Central Trust and under the guidance of Maharashtra Government Marathi Language Department and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was held in Mauritius a few months ago. 100 literature lovers from Maharashtra had gone to Mauritius for this meeting. The fifth generation of Marathi speakers in Mauritius is now living there. Marathi people are working there in various places like education, literature, politics, government services. Marathi speakers in Mauritius are trying to preserve their culture and relationship by holding a Marathi literature conference in Mauritius despite being away from Maharashtra for many generations.

During this meeting, Marathi people there fell in love with Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad. At this time, he demanded to Komsap to build a library here. This was immediately approved by Komsap Trustee Chief Ramesh Keer and Central President Namitha Keer. Accordingly, the proceedings were started immediately. He visited about 500 books in the beginning.

Currently Marathi people of Mauritius have fallen in love with this book. After getting 5000 books, a small library will stand there. Overall, the work of Komsap has gone across seven seas. This will be an exchange of international culture.

We got to experience during the 17th Sahitya Sammelan that Marathi culture is good in Mauritius. The people there demanded a Marathi library from us. We liked it too. We are going to open a library of 5000 books. It has also started by donating 500 books.
