The release of the film Emergency has been banned. Meanwhile, the film's lyricist Manoj Muntashir has come out in support of Kangana. He has appealed to the people of the Sikh community to stop the protest. Manoj says that this film has been made not only by Kangana but by 500 crew members, who should not be treated unfairly.

What did Manoj Muntashir say?

Manoj Muntashir has posted a video from his official Instagram account. In the video, the writer has said that Emergency will not be released on September 6 because the film did not get a censor certificate. But why is this certificate game being played half-heartedly, it should be played fully. Another certificate should be taken away from us that we are people who respect freedom of expression. Leave this pretense of greatness. We are not able to tolerate even one film, how will we tolerate freedom of expression.

Manoj Muntashir further said, what is the problem with Emergency? The problem is that Indira Gandhi's brutal murder has been shown in the film. So did Indira ji die in a road accident? Was she not murdered? The problem is that her murderer has been shown as a Sikh, so were Satwant Singh and Beant not Sikhs? They are saying that the Sikh community has objections to this.

I am not ready to believe that the Sikhs who fearlessly stand up for the truth by chanting Ek Omkar Satnam are scared of the truth shown in a film. Sikhs are a golden page in the history of India. When they come out wearing a saffron turban on their head, the whole country looks at them with respect. Because the valor of our great Gurus is reflected in every fold of that turban.

He further said, murderers like Satwant and Beant, who had sworn to protect, shot the person whose body they had taken. How can anyone in his senses consider Satwant Singh and Beant as his murderers. Innocent Sikhs had to pay compensation for the crimes of Satwant and Beant in 1984. This is as dark a page in the history of India as the Emergency, but Sikhs never played the victim card. They never had enmity with India.

Even after 1984, the number of Sikhs who sacrificed their lives on the borders was not less than anyone else. I refuse to believe that such a brave community would be scared of a film.

There are continuous protests in Mumbai against Kangana's film.

Manoj Muntashir's special appeal to the Sikh community

Manoj further said about Kangana, whatever complaints you have against Kangana Ranaut, take them to the courts, the justice system will decide it. But this film is not Kangana's alone. A crew of 500 people has made the film by working hard. There should be no injustice in your presence.

Deny the pressure being exerted on the censor board in your name. It is political, not moral. Some scared people do not represent the Sikh community. Say that your truth neither needs any film nor is afraid of any film.

After the release, if you feel that something wrong has been shown in the film, protest against it, I will also stand with you. We have always believed in your humanity and love for justice. We know that those Sikhs whose loud voices once burst the eardrums of Aurangzeb, cannot stand in favor of suppressing the voices of others.
