Manipur Violence: Again violence in Manipur, Metei community's Kwatha Khunau village set on fire! | leader









Leader Online Desk : Manipur Violence : A major incident has come to light amid the ongoing violence in Manipur for the past 10 months. Kwatha Khunau village inhabited by Metei community in Tengnaupal district has been set on fire by unknown persons. Fires have destroyed homes and livelihoods. Kwatha Khunau was the only village that was spared from the 10-month-long conflict. But after miscreants set fire to the settlement here, it has become a victim of violence.

The villagers of Kwatha Khunau bravely faced the challenges that arose during the unrest in Manipur. Due to which this village got a unique position. But the peace here has been disturbed due to miscreants setting fire to the village. The deliberate act of setting fire to the village has not only caused damage but also dealt a blow to the morale of the Metei community. This has made the people here doubt about their future. They are also dismayed at the loss of their sacred place, Kwatha Khunau village.

Efforts are underway to assess the extent of damage caused by the fire and provide immediate relief to the affected residents of Kwatha Khunau village. Due to this incident, anger and protest are being expressed from various levels. Urgent action is being demanded to nab the culprits and restore peace in the affected village.
