New Delhi, Leading News Service: After the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor abuse case in Delhi, many developments are taking place. Arvind Kejriwal sent a message to the activists which was broadcast by his wife Sunita Kejriwal through a video. There is a possibility that Kejriwal's wife will become the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, the India Alliance parties including AAP have protested in Delhi and other places against Kejriwal's arrest. On the other hand, on whose request Kejriwal was arrested. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Central Investigation Agency. The arrest was made solely on the basis of the statement of Sharathchandra Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma, the same Reddy who was arrested by the ED in November 2022 in an alcohol abuse case. Atishi said, “Sharathchandra Reddy has clearly stated that he has never met or spoken to Arvind Kejriwal and has nothing to do with him. After spending months in jail, he changed his statement,” she added. Minister Atishi also alleged that a money trail was found in BJP's account. “Sharathchandra Reddy gave 4.5 crore electoral bonds to BJP. Later a bond of 55 crores was also given. This money is in BJP's account so I challenge ED to let BJP National President J. P. Nadda should be arrested and shown,” said Atishi.
Who is Sarathchandra Reddy?
Sarathchandra Reddy, son of Aurobindo Pharma founder PV Ram Prasad Reddy, is one of the directors of the pharmaceutical company. According to the ED, Reddy was part of a cartel, a member of an alleged 'southern group' of businessmen and politicians. BRS leader K Kavita is also believed to be a member of this group.
Meanwhile, ED had also told the court that there is strong evidence base for Kejriwal's arrest. According to the ED claim, Kejriwal was the main mastermind behind the liquor policy scam. He was produced in court yesterday. Today, you protested at Shaheed Park in Delhi against Kejriwal's arrest. AAP along with other parties of India Alliance staged protests in some places including Delhi. On the other hand, BJP led by Delhi state president Virendra Sachdeva protested against AAP and demanded Kejriwal's arrest.
