Malayalam actress Sonia Malhar said that she was molested during the shooting of a film in 2013. A young actor touched her inappropriately. However, Sonia refused to reveal the name of the actor.
She said that both of them are good friends now and she does not want to tarnish the actor's image.
Sonia is a well-known face of Malayalam cinema.
Sonia told that this incident happened when she was new in the film industry. She was shooting for the film Thodupuzha. After giving the shot, she went to the bathroom. As she was returning from there, the actor caught hold of her.
The shooting of this film was taking place in a place like a warehouse, due to which Sonia became more scared.
Sonia said- he was trying to propose me
Sonia further said that she was very scared by the actor's action and started crying. She said, 'When he saw my condition, he immediately apologized.
When I questioned him about this act, he said that he liked my nature very much. It was as if he was trying to propose to me. I pushed him away from myself.'
Sonia completed the shooting of that film in 3-4 days. But it took her a long time to forget this terrible incident.
Had to work in films due to family responsibilities
When Sonia mentioned this incident to her husband, she was asked to reconsider her acting career. Sonia also admitted that it is difficult to survive in the industry without any strong connections. However, due to family responsibilities, she had to work in films.
