Emraan Hashmi, who has appeared in many great films like Murder, Footpath, Zeher, Kalyug, Jannat, belongs to a film family. His grandmother Meherbano was a great actress of the 60s, while Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt are his maternal uncles. Emraan never wanted to become a hero, but Mahesh Bhatt saw talent in him and launched him in films. Recently Emraan Hashmi has told that Mahesh Bhatt had threatened him on the set of his first film Footpath that if he did not act, he would be thrown out of the film.
Emraan Hashmi has recently shared the story of his entry into films in an interview with Shubhankar Mishra. He said, My grandmother has played a big role in making me a hero. But she was also afraid. I did not talk much about this. I was inspired by her to enter films. But she had seen so many ups and downs in her career that she was afraid.
Emraan Hashmi's grandmother Meherbano played the role of Amitabh Bachchan's mother in the film Zanjeer.
Further he said, Sometimes it happens that you come into the industry and the audience rejects you overnight. This has happened to many people. My grandmother was very protective about me. She would often tell me that I should think of another career option. However, Mahesh Bhatt had told me, I am sure he can become an actor, I will launch him. At this time, he felt relieved.
Only after this did she get convinced. Before this she did not think that I could become a hero or act. Mostly because I did not have any such dream, I did not have a conventional look, neither could I dance nor did I have any extra talent due to which I could win any prize in school. That is why she did not believe in me.
Mahesh Bhatt scolded me on the set
Sharing the story of Mahesh Bhatt's scolding, Imran said, I always tell people that I did not choose this profession, but this profession chose me. I was just at the right place at the right time. Mahesh Bhatt told me that he was restructuring his company and making a film. He cast me in that film (Footpath).
Imran further said, IBefore starting the shooting of the film, Hesh Bhatt had clearly told me that we are not doing any charity here, if you are not able to act or the audience does not like you, then I will not hesitate at all in throwing you out of the film set.
Let us tell you that Emraan Hashmi worked as an assistant director in the 2002 film Raaz. After this, he started his career as an actor with the 2003 film Footpath. However, he got real recognition from the 2004 film Murder.
