Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says that two films starring Shah Rukh Khan, which he had directed, flopped at the box office. Despite such a bad fate, Shah Rukh did not distance himself from him.
Mahesh Bhatt said that many film stars distance themselves from those directors who are not able to give hit films with them. But Shahrukh's attitude towards him did not change at all.
Shah Rukh worked in Mahesh Bhatt's films Chaahat and Duplicate, which were released in 1996 and 1998 respectively.
'An actor's attitude towards the director changes after giving a flop film'
In an interview to Radio Nasha, Mahesh Bhatt said, 'It takes a king and a gentleman to treat someone who has not given a hit film. Our relationship is commercial. There is a give and take here.
When a director gives a flop film with a star, the star's attitude often changes. It takes a different kind of nature to maintain the respect you have for a person despite failure. So, it shows what kind of or how good a person he (Shahrukh) is.'
The filmmaker further said that bad films are also made with passion like good films.
'Shahrukh is a great person'
This is not the first time that Mahesh Bhatt has praised Shah Rukh Khan. Some time ago, in an interview to Pinkvilla, he said, 'He (Shahrukh) is a great man. He is a great person.'
Farida Jalal had said- Shahrukh shoots a scene many times
Farida Jalal worked with Shahrukh Khan in the film Duplicate. In an old interview, she said about this, 'Shahrukh is always energetic on the set. I played the role of his mother in the film Duplicate. The film's director Mahesh Bhatt was always upset because Shahrukh used to shoot every scene several times.
Let us tell you, Shahrukh worked with Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt in the film Dear Zindagi. Apart from this, he has been the co-producer of Alia's film Darlings.
