On the occasion of Mahashivratri, actors of the show 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain' Vidisha Srivastava and Asif Sheikh reached Varanasi. The actors visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Both of them also took a boat ride in the Ganga in the evening. After traveling by boat from Assi to Rajghat, he also witnessed Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
Asif and Vidisha have a relationship with this city since childhood. Asif's maternal grandparents lived here while Vidisha's maternal home is in Varanasi.
During a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, both the actors shared some interesting memories related to Varanasi and Mahashivratri-
Asif Shaikh says, 'I have returned to Varanasi after 12 years. Feels like returning home. I was surprised to see the development of this city. Varanasi is looking much better now than what we saw 12 years ago. Very good development has taken place. Many memories related to this city are special, especially from my childhood.
When we used to go to our maternal home, all of us cousins used to go together to a halwai shop at the corner. From there we would buy kachori, potato curry, two jalebis and eat them together. Even today the taste of those delicious dishes is on my tongue. Returning to this city again today, old memories have been refreshed.
Sharing memories related to Mahashivratri, Asif further said, 'A huge event of Mahashivratri is organized in Delhi. I went to that event a few years ago. There I saw around 3 lakh people. Everyone was engrossed in worshiping Lord Shiva. I had seen this kind of environment for the first time.
For many years I had a desire to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple. At last my wish was fulfilled. There was a deep feeling of spirituality as soon as I stepped into the temple.
Vidisha says, 'The festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated with enthusiasm and devotion throughout the country. But the grandeur of this festival in Varanasi is at another level. This year, I got the opportunity to return to my hometown and receive blessings from Baba Kashi Vishwanath. I couldn't think of anything better than this.
The temple is beautifully decorated. Lakhs of Shiva devotees gathered to seek blessings. It was really a great experience. Chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' with millions of Shiva devotees was a spiritual experience.
