When Shahrukh Khan was working in TV before films, his interview was rejected by a popular magazine. The editor of the magazine said that Shahrukh is not a star whose interview should be published. This has been revealed by journalist and writer Mushtaq Sheikh in a recent interview.
The editor said- Shahrukh is not a star
While talking to Cyrus Broacha, Mushtaq recalled the incident when Shahrukh had just come to Mumbai and was yet to make a name in films. Shahrukh had gained a lot of popularity from the TV show Fauji at that time. Mushtaq was active as an independent journalist at that time. He had interviewed Shahrukh.
Mushtaq further said about this- When I took Shahrukh's interview to my editor, he did not consider it a good interview. The editor said that Shahrukh is not a film star.
Shahrukh used to look at the industry from a different perspective
Mushtaq told that the magazine for which he used to work was focused on film stars. He said- At that time Shahrukh was a big face on TV, but had not entered films.
However, he was as influential and funny even then as he is today. Shahrukh had said in an interview at that time – I want to be number one, I am number one and I will be number one. He had a vision of the film industry that no one else had. He had also said bad things about someone at that time.
Mushtaq said that after the editor rejected it, he gave Shahrukh's interview to some other media group. When Shahrukh became a star, the magazine wanted to interview him. Then Shahrukh said – I will only talk to Mushtaq.
Let us tell you, Mushtaq has worked with Shahrukh in many films. He was also the writer of Shahrukh's film Om Shanti Om.
