'Madgaon Express' overtakes 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' on first day: Earned 1.63 crores on opening day, Randeep's film got support from Marathi audience

This Friday two films were released at the Indian box office. Randeep Hooda starrer 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' and Kunal Khemu directed 'Madgaon Express'. Both the films made almost mixed collections. Through both these films, two Bollywood actors have debuted as directors.

Marathi shows got 100% occupancy
The film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' earned Rs 1 crore 10 lakh across the country on its opening day. Its total occupancy was 15.40%. The Marathi shows of the film received an overwhelming response from the Marathi audience with 100% occupancy. Nearly 300 shows of the film were done in Mumbai where it got 19.25% occupancy. Whereas in Pune, 29.75% occupancy has been achieved. The film got the highest occupancy of 44.33% in Chennai, where only 4 shows were hosted. The World Wide film collected Rs 1 crore 60 lakh on the first day.

'Margao Express' attracts youth audience
Whereas 'Madgaon Express' did a business of Rs 1 crore 63 lakh across the country on the first day. The total occupancy of this film was 11.8%. This comedy film attracted the youth the most. This is Kunal's first film as a director. In this, Divyendu Sharma, Prateek Gandhi, Avinash Tiwari and Nora Fatehi are seen in lead roles.

Both films released on the opening day of IPL
According to trade experts, both the films have been released on the opening day of IPL. This has also affected their earnings. It is expected that both will perform better in the coming days.

'Yoddha' earned Rs 90 lakh on the eighth day
After the release of two new films, the impact of Siddharth Malhotra's 'Yodha' also faded. The film had earned Rs 26 crore 9 lakh in the first week. Now on the eighth day it did a business of Rs 90 lakh. With this the total box office collection of the film has reached Rs 26 crore 99 lakh.

'Shaitan' eyes 200 crores worldwide
'Shaitan' has done a business of Rs 36.08 crore at the box office in the second week. With this, the total Indian box office collection of this film has become Rs 177 crore 68 lakh and the worldwide collection has become Rs 168 crore 42 lakh.

'Article 370' earned Rs 106.40 crore
Earlier released Yami Gautam starrer 'Article 370' has earned Rs 4 crore 77 lakh in the fourth week in the country. With this, the film has made a worldwide collection of Rs 106 crore 40 lakh. It did a business of Rs 78 crore 33 lakh in the country.
