Lok Sabha election: Shock to Mamata, Trinamool candidate's wife joins BJP before polling | leader









Leader Online Desk: The battle for the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal has reached its peak. The political conflict between BJP and Trinamool is being discussed at the national level. Swastika Bhuvaneshwari aka Rosie, wife of Trinamool Congress candidate Mukutmani Adhikari from Ranaghat Lok Sabha constituency in Nadia district, has joined the BJP today (11th) while voting is still a few hours away. Voting will be held in Ranaghat on Monday, May 13.

Today evening, a public meeting was held at Taherpur in Ranaghat, just a few hours before the end of the fourth phase election campaign. On this occasion Rosie joined the BJP in the presence of BJP leader and veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty. On the last day of campaigning in the fourth phase, Mithun went for an election rally from Ranaghat in support of BJP candidate Jagannath Sarkar. Polling will be held on May 13 at Ranaghat.

BJP MLA Mukutmani left BJP and joined Trinamool

While welcoming her to the party, Mithun said Rosie is still legally the wife of Trinamool candidate Mukutmani Adhikari. The dispute between husband and wife has been going on for many days. Before the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, Mukut Mani had also left BJP and joined Trinamool. Mukut Mani was elected as an MLA from Ranaghat South (reserved) seat on a BJP ticket in the 2021 assembly elections in West Bengal. After joining Trinamool, he also resigned from MLA.
