New Delhi, Leading News Service: Senior leader Sharad Pawar met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence in New Delhi on Monday to demand that in the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency of Haryana, since the number of voters from Road Maratha community is high, this seat should be left for our Nationalist Congress Party in the India Alliance. Sources informed that there was a positive discussion between the two leaders in this regard.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is contesting on BJP ticket from Karnal Lok Sabha seat. The Congress has started discussions with the constituent parties of the India Alliance to field a capable candidate against Khattar. Against this backdrop, Sharad Pawar met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence at 10 Rajaji Marg. Karnal Constituency has a large population of Road Maratha community and NCP has influence over them. Therefore, Sharad Pawar demanded Kharge to leave this seat for us in the India Alliance. Sources informed that Sharad Pawar told Kharge that Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar group) Haryana state president Virendra Verma can give a good fight to Manoharlal Khattar. There is a discussion about the candidature of Kuldeep Sharma, the former speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, from the Congress party.
