Lok Sabha Election: India Aghadi's formula in Jammu and Kashmir is decided, Congress and National Conference will contest 3 seats each while PDP will contest independently | leader









New Delhi; Leading News Service: In the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the India Aghadi's seat distribution formula in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has finally been decided. Congress will contest 3 out of 6 seats while National Conference will contest 3 seats. Meanwhile, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has already made it clear that despite being a part of the India Alliance, his party will contest independent Lok Sabha elections on all the seats in Kashmir. Therefore, like in Punjab, the constituent parties of the India Alliance will stand in front of each other here as well.

In the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, all the parties are involved in deciding the seat allocation formula and selecting the candidates. Amidst all these developments, the Congress and the National Conference, the constituent parties of the All India Alliance, sealed the seat allocation formula in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah announced this in a joint press conference with Congress leaders in Delhi on Monday. Congress leaders Salman Khurshid, Pawan Kheda were present on this occasion. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have a total of 6 Lok Sabha seats. Out of them Congress will contest on 3 seats and National Conference will contest on 3 seats. According to seat allocation, Congress will field its candidates in Udhampur, Jammu and Ladakh Lok Sabha seats. While the National Conference will contest elections in Anantnag, Baramulla and Srinagar. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won 3 seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and National Conference won 3 seats.
