Lok Sabha Election: Exit polls cannot be shown between April 19 and June 1; Election Commission leader









New Delhi, Leading News Service: The Election Commission has announced a ban on exit polls from 7 am on April 19 to 6.30 pm on June 1 in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and four state assembly elections.

Many news organizations, news channels show exit polls before elections. It may influence the polls in the next phase, in addition, there are things that can influence the next polls. For this, the Election Commission has issued a notification stating that polling for the upcoming Lok Sabha and four state assembly elections will be held on April 19 at 7 am. From 1st June till 6.30 pm conducting, publishing or promoting exit polls is banned.

Meanwhile, assembly elections are being held in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim along with the Lok Sabha elections. By-elections to 25 assembly constituencies in 12 states are also taking place during this period.
