According to an estimate, the eighteenth Lok Sabha election to be held in the country is likely to be the most expensive election ever in the country as well as in the world. Center for Media Studies (CMS), an organization that monitors political spending, has predicted that more than Rs 1.2 lakh crore will be spent in the upcoming elections. About 1.2 lakh crore rupees were spent in the 2020 presidential election in America. If the 'CMS' prediction that more than this amount will be spent in the upcoming elections in India is true, it will naturally be the most expensive election in the world.
