Lok Sabha Election 2024 : Will PM Modi set a new record in 'Varanasi' with a hat trick of victory? | leader









Leader Online Desk : BJP announced the first list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections today (March 2). Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to contest the elections from Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh for the third time. BJP workers are all set to elect Prime Minister Modi with record votes. The BJP will be aiming to set a record for getting elected with the highest number of votes with a hat-trick of victories in this madar Sangh. (Lok Sabha Election 2024: PM Modi will contest elections from Varanasi seat) Meanwhile, after it was announced that Prime Minister Modi will contest the Lok Sabha elections for the third time in a row, BJP workers in Varanasi expressed their happiness by cheering.

Significant increase in vote share

Narendra Modi contested the first election in 2014 from Varanasi constituency. This time Aam Aadmi Party candidate Arvind Kejriwal was against him. He got 54.6 percent votes in this election. After this, Samajwadi Party's Shalini Yadav contested against Narendra Modi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2019, Prime Minister Modi got 63.6 percent of the total votes. Now he is all set to set a new record by being elected from Varanasi for the third time in the Lok Sabha elections.

The Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency has 75 per cent Hindus, 20 per cent Muslims and 5 per cent other voters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known as a popular leader as MP from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency. About 65 percent of the total voters here are urban and 35 percent are rural.
