Lok Sabha Election 2024 : 'There is no point in blaming EVM': Actor Kalam Haasan pricks the ear of allies | leader

Leader Online Desk : “There is no point in blaming the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Don't blame it. Because if a car has an accident, it is not the car but the driver who is responsible. After this election we have to decide on 'EVM'. Makkal Nidhi Mayyam (MNM) party chief and popular southern actor Kalam Haasan today (March 24) struck a chord with allied parties in the 'India' alliance with the words that people want a say in how the voting machine should be.

Speaking at a meeting in Tamil Nadu today, Kamal Haasan said that there is no point in blaming 'EVM' today. Because if an accident occurs to a car, the car cannot be held responsible for the accident. So the driver is responsible for that. Similarly, after our Lok Sabha elections, the decision of 'EVM' has to be taken. People have to be told how it should be. Rama also took the fire test, right? He said, “We will also check the purity of this EVM machine.”

Kamal Haasan has announced his support to Tamil Nadu India Alliance's ally DMK. It has also been announced that he will not contest the Lok Sabha elections. DMK will give one seat to Kalam Hasan's party for the 2025 Rajya Sabha elections. According to the discussion between Kamal Haasan and MK Stalin, Kamal Haasan will be campaigning for DMK in the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies of Tamil Nadu and the lone Puducherry region in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
