Lok sabha Election 2024 Results : Who is Shankar Lalwani who got more than 10 lakh votes for the second consecutive time?









Leader Online Desk: Shankar Lalwani, the sitting MP of Indore Lok Sabha Constituency of Madhya Pradesh, has achieved 'Maha Vikram'. Lalwani has secured more than 10 lakh votes for the second time in a row from Indore Lok Sabha constituency. Known as the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore Lok Sabha seat is one of the safest seats for the BJP. Lalwani had also won this seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Victory's 'Great Record'

The people of Indore gave more than 12 lakh 26 thousand votes to Shankar Lalwani in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Lalwani has defeated Bahujan Samaj Party's Sanjay Solanki by more than 10 lakh 8 thousand votes. Sanjay Solanki got only 51,659 votes. Lalwani got more than 10 lakh 68 thousand votes in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. At that time, he defeated Pankaj Sanghvi of Congress by more than 5 lakh 47 thousand votes. Congress candidate got more than 5 lakh 20 thousand votes.

Who is Shankar Lalwani?

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Shankar Lalwani was born on 16 October 1961 in Indore. Before becoming an MP, he was also the chairman of the Indore Development Authority. He has completed his B.Tech degree from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute. On 23 May 2019, he won the election for the first time from Indore Lok Sabha constituency. In 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party fielded him on the ticket to replace then Lok Sabha Speaker and Indore MP Sumitra Mahajan.

Representing the Sindhi community, Shankar Lalwani hails from Pakistan. After partition in 1947, his family came to India and later settled in Madhya Pradesh. Shankar Lalwani entered politics in 1994. After that, he won the election for the post of corporator in Indore Municipal Corporation. Between 1999 and 2004, he was the President of PWD in Indore Municipal Corporation. At the same time, he served as the Chairman of Indore Development Authority from 2013 to 2018.
