Leader Online Desk : The Election Commission has issued a notice to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala today (April 9) in connection with his controversial statement against BJP leader Hema Malini. ECI has sought action from the Congress President to ensure respectful public discourse on women by party leaders and workers; It has also been clarified that election campaigning cannot be allowed to become a platform for disrespecting women.
The Election Commission has also directed that the President of the Congress Party shall take steps to strictly follow the recommendations of the Commission to maintain dignity and respect of women during the public speeches of all party leaders by 11 April 2024.
