Lok sabha election 2024: Congress moves to Election Commission against PM Modi's 'Muslim League' statement | leader

Leader Online Desk : The Congress has approached the Election Commission against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for comparing the party's manifesto with the Muslim League. The Congress delegation requested that action should be taken in this matter today (April 8) at the Election Commission of India office in Delhi.

Speaking to the media, senior lawyer and Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, “We are deeply saddened by the statement made by the Prime Minister, his allegation about our manifesto is baseless. The Prime Minister has no right to say such things. We have placed this matter before the Election Commission. He also said that there was a special request to take serious action on this.

What did PM Modi say?

The manifesto released by the Congress for the Lok Sabha elections has the imprint of the Muslim League. The old Congress is nowhere to be seen. The left has become dominant in this. Even in the constituencies which were considered to be the stronghold of the Congress, the Congress does not dare to field candidates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a meeting in Ajmer, Rajasthan on April 6, that the person to whom the Congress is giving a ticket is leaving the Congress the next day.

Today, the Congress party has neither policies of national interest nor the vision of nation building. The Congress Party is completely disconnected from the hopes and aspirations of India today. The same ideology which prevailed in the Muslim League during the freedom movement is reflected in the Congress Manifesto. Congress does not appear at all in the manifesto of Congress. Narendra Modi also claimed that such a Congress cannot take India forward in the 21st century.
