New Delhi : Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi has been appointed as the new Army Chief. The central government has announced that Dwivedi will take charge on June 30. The current Army Chief General Manoj Pandey is retiring on the same day.
Dwivedi is currently the Deputy Chief of Army Staff. Lt Gen Dwivedi has conducted many anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir. He was actively involved in the ongoing talks with China to resolve the border issue.
