KKR vs RCB : Kolkata set Bangalore a target of 223 runs









Leaders Online Desk: Batting first in the match, skipper Shreyas Iyer's half-century and Phil Salt and Ramandeep Singh's quick innings helped Kolkata Knight Riders set a target of 223 runs against Bangalore. In the match, Bangalore captain Faf Duplessis won the toss and elected to bowl first, but Kolkata scored 222 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. The opening pair of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine got KKR off to a good start once again. Both the batsmen shared a partnership of 56 runs in 26 balls for the first wicket. Salt scored 28 off Lockie Ferguson's over, but Mohammad Siraj dismissed Salt to stop him from reaching his half-century. After this, KKR's innings failed and the team lost four wickets for 97 runs. After this, captain Shreyas Iyer scored his first half-century of the season with a restrained innings, but he too was dismissed after his half-century.

In the end, Kolkata set Bengaluru a target of 223, thanks to Ramandeep Singh's quick innings. Ramandeep scored an unbeaten 24 off nine balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. Andre Russell supported Ramandeep well at the other end and Russell returned to the pavilion unbeaten on 27 off 20 balls with four fours.3
