Filmmaker Kiran Rao has talked about motherhood. Kiran is Aamir Khan's ex-wife. In an interview, Kiran has said that she suffered several miscarriages before the birth of her son Azad. He also suffered many health issues due to this.

For five years, I suffered several miscarriages and had many personal and health issues. I wanted to have a child but it was very difficult. In such a situation, when Azad was born, my focus was only on giving him good upbringing.

Son was born through surrogacy
Kiran and Aamir's son was born through surrogacy. Due to Kiran having difficulty conceiving, the decision of surrogacy was taken, after which Azad was born in 2011. Now Azad is 13 years old.
Kiran said in an interview about her son, 'After the birth of Azad, happiness came in our life. Those were the best years of our lives. I have no regrets at all that I did not make any films for ten years because I enjoyed that period very much.
