Kiran Rao spoke on her marriage to Aamir Khan: 'First we lived together for a year, then we had to get married under family pressure'

Filmmaker Kiran Rao has talked about her marriage and divorce with Aamir Khan. Kiran revealed in an interview that she and Aamir lived together for a year before marriage. After this he got married.

Kiran said, 'We lived together for almost a year after dating and to be honest, we had to get married because of our parents. You get a lot of good things from marriage. Found a new family. You get new relationships and this also gives you a feeling of security and stability.

Kiran also expressed her opinion on the responsibilities of husband and wife in marriage. He said, 'After marriage, a lot of responsibilities fall on women like running the house and keeping the family together. Even women are expected to keep their husband's family happy. Many such expectations are made from women which I think should be discussed.

The marriage was broken in 2021

Aamir and Kiran got married in the year 2005 and both separated from each other in 2021. However, the two still work together, are friends and are also co-parenting their son Azad.

Aamir had produced Kiran's film 'Laapata Ladies'

On the work front, Kiran has made a comeback as a director after 13 years with the film 'Lapata Ladies'. The film was released on 1 March. Aamir was the producer of this film. Aamir's last film on the acting front was 'Lal Singh Chaddha'.

These days he is working on three films. Where he is producing Sunny Deol starrer 'Lahore 1947' and his son Junaid's debut romantic film 'Ek Din'. His next film as an actor is 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.
