Celebrating the potential, knowledge and endeavour of common men and women in India, Kaun Banega Crorepati returns with its exciting 16th season on Sony Entertainment Television.
This season's campaign, 'Zindagi Hai. Har Mod Pe Sawal Poochhegi. Jawaab To Dena Hoga', reflects the belief that at crucial junctures in life, we are faced with challenges that test us and it is our responses to these situations that pave new paths for us.
Staying true to the concept of this season’s campaign, Week 1 has proven to be more than just a typical game as it has served as a ray of hope that improves the contestants and changes their lives.
One such contestant, Sudhir Kumar Verma, son of a farmer from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, faced many challenges but his unwavering faith in education made him reach the hot seat of KBC.
His winning amount of Rs 25.8 lakh has brought him one step closer to his dream of buying a piece of land which he wants to gift to his father. His achievement has silenced those who doubted his ability, and he has proved that knowledge can indeed change lives.
Another inspiring story that shone like the Pole Star in the very first week is that of Vaishnavi Bharti, a resident of Jhumri Telaiya, who completed her journey from Jharkhand, the heart of India, to the hot seat.
Despite her challenging life, she never let these circumstances come in the way of her preparation for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam along with which she also handled her household responsibilities.
Vaishnavi's determination and knowledge helped her earn her first earning of Rs. 7 lakh 30 thousand, which she respectfully dedicated to her father and expressed her wish to make a better life for herself and her family. Seeing Vaishnavi's sweet gesture, Amitabh Bachchan praised her a lot.
Deepali Soni from Vadodara is a very talented housewife who has set an example of determination and deep love for her family. Her dream of buying her own car has come closer to reality with the winning amount of Rs. 6 lakh 40 thousand.
This week, we also meet Jayanta Dhule from Agai, West Bengal, who is all set to win hearts with his mission to change his family's lifestyle. Driven by a desire to improve sanitation, he wants to use the winnings to build a bathroom for his mother and sister, which shows his commitment to improving his and his family's living conditions.
Stories of perseverance and determination will continue to inspire us in the weeks to come
The contestants coming on the hotseat will bring with them many stories, like Vishnu Managoli from Chennai who is one of the youngest contestants of this season, wants to join ISRO, and Naresh Meena from Rajasthan, who is courageously battling brain tumour and will become the first contestant of this season to face the Rs 1 Crore question.
