Filmmaker Karan Johar talked about body dysmorphia in a recent interview. 52-year-old Karan said that he has been struggling with it since the age of 8.

I have not been comfortable with my body for years: Karan
Talking about feeling uncomfortable in his skin, Karan said, 'I have body dysmorphia. I feel very uncomfortable when I go to the pool.

I tried so hard for years to be comfortable with my body but I couldn't get over it. No matter how successful I am.'

'I did not feel comfortable even after losing weight'
Karan further said, 'It doesn't matter what you think of yourself. I always feel comfortable in oversized clothes.

Even though I have lost a lot of weight, I am still uncomfortable with my body. I don't want anyone to see any part of my body.'

I used to even get panic attacks: Karan
Karan shared an old anecdote and said, 'I have been body shaming myself since I was 8 years old. I have even taken therapy to overcome this. There was a time when I used to get panic attacks and I had to take medicines to cure it.'

Earlier also Karan had talked about his mental health. During the promotion of Coffee with Karan 8, Karan had said, 'I get anxiety attacks. I have no shame in saying that I am dependent on medicines.'

On the work front, the film 'Kill' made under Karan's banner was released this Friday. It collected Rs 1.35 crore on the first day. Karan's next film 'Bad News' will be released on July 19.
