Kanyakumari to Baramulla railway project to be completed in August









New Delhi, Leading News Service: Even before the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the Union Ministry of Railways has decided its development program for the next 100 days. The rail line project connecting Kanyakumari to Baramulla is going to be completed by the coming August by the Ministry of Railways.

Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link scheme from Katra to Banihal will be completed in this project. In this plan, the engineers of Konkan Railway are doing the work of digging a hill and making a tunnel at Swalkot, the railway sources said.

Under Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Scheme Katra to Banihal will be connected. The construction of flyover over river Chenab is also in final stage. The flyover will connect the 111 km road from Katra to Banihal.

Sources also said that as soon as the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project is completed, passengers will be able to travel by rail to Kanyakumari.
