Popular Kannada cinema actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been arrested by the police. He has been accused of murdering his fan. Bangalore Police said in a press conference on June 11 that the actor had a fight with the deceased a few days ago. The police have found a CCTV footage in which actor Darshan is seen leaving the crime scene.
According to media reports, the police have found strong evidence against actor Darshan. Actually, on June 9, the security guard of an apartment in Kamakshipalya area saw some dogs dragging a dead body in the drain near the building.
The guard called the Kamakshipalya police station and informed about the incident. According to the police, the body was of Renuka Swamy, who worked in a medical store.

During the investigation, the police found out that the deceased Renuka Swamy was kidnapped by some people from Chitradurga area. She was tortured for about 1 hour. After which Renuka Swamy died.
In this case, the police suspected Raghu Darshan alias Raghavendra, the district president of actor Darshan's fan association. Therefore, Raghu was detained along with his two companions and questioned, which revealed the whole case.

According to police officials, Raghavendra kidnapped Renuka Swamy from Chitradurga area and kept her in a godown in Pattanavadagere, RR Nagar. Where she was assaulted, which led to her death. After this, Raghavendra threw Renuka Swamy's body in a drain in Kamakshipalya area.
The police examined the CCTV footage in which actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his girlfriend actress Pavitra were seen leaving the crime scene. Both their mobile numbers were active in the same area from 11 pm to 3 am.

Police officials said that it can be seen in the CCTV that first a black Scorpio came out from the spot, in which the dead body was kept. Then actor Darshan and his girlfriend were seen going behind it in a red Thar.

After getting evidence against actor Darshan and actress Pavitra, Bangalore police first arrested Darshan from a farmhouse in Mysore. Then Pavitra was arrested from a gym in Bangalore.

Actually, the deceased Renuka Swamy was a fan of actor Darshan. In January 2024, Kannada actress Pavitra Gowda celebrated her 10th anniversary with Darshan. The relationship of both of them came into controversy, because Darshan Thoogudeepa is already married.
On January 24, Pavitra made the official announcement of the relationship.
He used to send objectionable messages to Pavitra on social media
Darshan's fan Renuka Swami was very upset with this news. He was constantly messaging Pavitra Gowda and asking her to stay away from Darshan. Initially, Pavitra ignored his messages, but later Renuka Swami started threatening her by sending objectionable messages.
Pavitra told this to Darshan after which the actor made a plan to eliminate Renuka Swami. This has been confirmed on the basis of the statements of 10 people arrested in the murder case. At present, detailed investigation of the murder is going on.

In 2011, Darshan Thoogudeepa's wife filed a complaint against him accusing him of domestic violence. In this case, he had to remain in police custody for 14 days. Later his wife withdrew the case. After the case came to light, Darshan publicly apologized to his fans.

Kannada actor Darshan and Kicha Sudeep were close friends at one time. Both were often spotted together. However, Darshan broke the friendship after getting angry with a statement made by Kicha Sudeep.
