Kangana Ranaut has given clarification on the soft porn statement given against Urmila Matondkar. Kangana said that words like soft porn or porn star are not objectionable. This is simply not acceptable by society. Kangana gave the example of Sunny Leone here.
He said that Sunny Leone gets a lot of respect in India. Perhaps a common man will not get that much respect. Kangana said that she does not understand why people have so much problem with the term soft porn. Lyrics like Sheela Ki Jawani and Tandoori Murgi are used in Bollywood item numbers, then why does no one have a problem with it?
First understand the background of the case
Ever since Kangana Ranaut got the Lok Sabha ticket from BJP, allegations and counter-allegations have been going on against her. An objectionable post was made against Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet from her social media handle, which was strongly opposed by Kangana's supporters and senior BJP leaders.
However, in response to this, the opponents brought out Kangana's four-year-old statement, in which she had called actress and politician Urmila Matondkar a soft porn star.
I have never done item numbers in my life.
Now in an interview given to Times Now, Kangana Ranaut has clarified her statement. He said- I have never done item numbers in my life. I have made a name and position for myself on the basis of my acting. I had said at that time that if Urmila ji can get a ticket through her filmography, then my art is very different and better than hers. I can easily get tickets on the basis of my art.
Through her statement, Kangana has targeted Urmila's item numbers which she has done in some of her old films.
Why no problem with songs like Sheela Ki Jawaani and Tandoori Murgi Hoon?
Kangana further said- I don't understand what problem people have with a term like soft porn star. You go and ask Sunny Leone. Probably no one else gets the respect he gets. Words like porn star are simply not accepted here, that's the whole point.
You see, in our songs, words like Sheela Ki Jawani, Tandoori Murgi (an excerpt from the song Fevicol from Dabangg 3) are used for women. Why doesn't anyone have a problem with this?
