BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and actress Kangana Ranaut reached to meet BJP President JP Nadda on Thursday (August 29). Kangana left after staying at Nadda's residence in Delhi for about half an hour. This was Kangana's first meeting with a senior BJP leader after her statement on the farmers' movement.

Kangana had said in an interview to Bhaskar that during the farmers' movement, rapes and murders took place in the name of protest. If the government had not been strong, Punjab would have become Bangladesh. When this statement was opposed, the BJP said that this is Kangana's own opinion, not the party's.

BJP issued a press release on 26 August saying that the party disagrees with Kangana's statement. Kangana is not allowed to speak on the party's policy issues. The party had also instructed her not to make such statements in future.

Kangana said- rioters were spreading violence in the name of farmers' movement

In an interview to Dainik Bhaskar, Kangana said that if our top leadership was not strong, Punjab would have been turned into Bangladesh during the farmers' movement. In Punjab, miscreants were spreading violence in the name of farmers' movement. Rapes and murders were taking place there. The farmers' bill was withdrawn otherwise these miscreants had a very long-term plan. They could have done anything in the country.

Rahul said- Kangana's statement is proof of anti-farmer policy
On Kangana's statement, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said on Monday (August 26)- BJP MP calling farmers rapists and representatives of foreign powers is proof of their anti-farmer policy and intentions. Modi government's betrayal of farmers cannot be hidden by attacking the honour and respect of the food providers.

Priyanka Chaturvedi's question- why is the release not on BJP's letterhead
Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi raised questions on BJP's press release. She wrote in a social media post that neither is it on BJP's letterhead, nor is it signed by anyone. It is not even on BJP's social media handles. She tagged BJP and wrote that is there any reason behind this or is this also a slogan. Read full news…

Question: Like the situation in Bangladesh today, can such a situation arise in our country too?
answer- If our top leadership had been weak today, a situation like Bangladesh could have happened in India as well. Everyone saw what happened during the farmers' movement here. How violence was spread in the name of protest. Rapes were happening there, people were killed and their bodies were being hanged. When that bill was withdrawn, these rioters were shocked because their planning was very long-term. They were controlled in time, otherwise they could have done anything.

Question- Why is the film industry silent on what happened to Hindus in Bangladesh?
answer-
Actually these people do not know anything. They are lost in their own thoughts. They sit with their makeup on from the morning, they do not care about what is happening in the country and the world. They think that their work should go on, the country can go to hell. However, they forget that if something happens to the country then they will also suffer the same loss.

Recently, the general public protested against the government in Bangladesh. As a result, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to leave the country. As soon as the government fell, attacks against the minorities started there. Temples and houses of Hindus were burnt.

Question- Lady doctor was raped in Kolkata, Will you raise your voice for women in Parliament?
answer-
Women's safety has always been a matter of concern for me. I am very serious about it. I have always raised my voice in support of women to the best of my ability. 10 years ago, in Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate, I openly opposed item numbers in films. Is a woman's body only for entertainment?

Question: The industry's reaction to your statements is often harsh?
answer-
This is a propaganda used against me. People who are insecure about me and my work say such things. People feel that Kangana speaks too much truth. Well, I have also raised my voice against these people.

I have always spoken against sexism, nepotism and item numbers prevalent in the industry. During the Me Too movement, I exposed many people. During Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide, I made many revelations, due to which many people were offended.

Question: You will be seen in the role of Indira in the film Emergency, what would you say?
answer- This film has been made with utmost honesty. There is no question of opposing anyone here. Even Rahul Gandhi will like the film very much. After watching the film, he will praise it inwardly, but no one knows what he will say outside.

Question- Can you see any similarities between you and Indira ji? Is there any one thing about her that you do not find right?
answer- If we forget the chapter on emergency, one special feature of her personality was that she loved her country very much. She really wanted some changes.

Today's leaders are hungry for power but they do not love their country. The bad thing about them is that they wanted to promote their own family, which is not right according to me.

Question- As long as you were following the industry, everything was fine. When you started giving your opinion, you became bad?
answer-
I came to Mumbai in 2004. I got my first film in 2006. Till 2014, I was seen as an ordinary actress. People in the industry had a positive attitude towards me. After 2014, when my films started becoming hits, they started getting worried. They thought who is this outsider girl who has come and made a place for herself. She is neither the daughter of a rich man nor does she have a godfather in the industry, then why is she becoming so successful.

As soon as Tanu Weds Manu Returns became a superhit, they started following me even more. They started abusing me, started character assassination, started calling me a psycho. Meaning, the girl who was normal for them for 10 years, suddenly became a psycho? Film makers like Karan Johar, Ketan Mehta and Apurva Asrani used to give statements against me every day.

Even the people with whom I had broken up years ago started sending me notices. They started saying that I stalk them, make them drink my menstrual blood. Such allegations were made against me that you cannot even imagine in your dreams.

Question: You speak fearlessly all the time. Don't your own people explain to you why you are harming yourself?
answer-
See, my family lives a very simple life. They do not have any attachment. They are happy that now I am spending more and more time in my hometown Mandi. Apart from this, some well-wishers definitely say that you should not fight for everything. They are right to some extent, I will not be able to fight for everything alone.
