JNU is the highest ranked university in India leader









London; News Agency: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi has been ranked as the best university in the country. The rankings were released by London-based higher education analytics firm Quackerelli Symonds (QS). According to this latest ranking, Jawaharlal Nehru University has been ranked highest among Indian universities. In the latest ranking released by QS, some other Indian universities have made it and JNU has been ranked 20th in the world in development studies.

QS said on the occasion that the university was ranked among the best institutions in the country in geography, history, modern languages, politics and international relations, anthropology, English language and literature and linguistics. The merit list was announced late on Wednesday.

According to this ranking released by QS, Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) is among the top 25 institutes in the world for business and management studies, while IIM Bangalore, IIM-Kolkata are among the top 50 institutes. Jessica Turner, CEO of QS Firm, said that the biggest challenge facing India is quality education. He observed that there is still a lot of scope on all fronts of improving the quality of education, access to higher education, digital readiness of universities and global competitiveness. Ben Souter, senior vice president of QS, asserted that given the current situation, India is close to surpassing Britain in research.

Subject-wise QS World University Rankings ranked Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Kolkata IIMs among the top 50 institutions for business-management studies. This includes IIM Ahmedabad in the top 25. Savetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences in Chennai is ranked 24th in the world in Dentistry. Meanwhile, Indian universities have performed best in five disciplines namely Computer Science, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Business Studies and Physics. IIT Delhi ranked 63rd in Computer Science and Information Systems, IIT Bombay 95th in Chemistry, IIT Bombay 30th in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, OP Jindal Global University ranked 72nd in Law and DU's Environmental Science.
