Oldest player to take 700 wickets
James Anderson has become the oldest player to take 700 wickets in Test cricket. This English fast bowler achieved this feat at the age of 41 years and 223 days. Before him, Shane Warne took 700 wickets at the age of 37 years and 104 days. While Muralitharan completed 700 wickets, he was at the age of 35.
Anderson took 690 Test wickets before coming to India. He did not get a chance to play in the Hyderabad Test. England gave a chance to Mark Wood, the only fast bowler in that match.
