Ishan scored 69 runs off 34 balls and played an important role in helping Mumbai overcome the challenge of 197 runs. Speaking to the media after the match, Ishan reacted to the controversy against BCCI that took place a few weeks before the start of the IPL. Actually, Ishan was dropped from the central contract by the BCCI. He also did not play the Ranji Trophy despite BCCI's warning. In such a situation, his future in the Indian team was questioned.
When asked about this, Ishaan said, 'When I took some time for myself from the game, people were talking a lot. I was criticized on social media.
