Now BCCI has decided to reconsider the impact player rule. This rule was implemented last season. Under this rule, teams were allowed to play one substitute in their team during the match. (IPL 2024)
Rohit took an open stance
Rohit Sharma had expressed fear that the impact player will have a negative impact on the all-rounders. He expressed his opinion while speaking on the impact player rule in an interview. “I don't think the impact player rule is right,” he said. Cricket is played with 11 players not 12 players. He gave the example of Shivam Dubey and said that there is no need for Shivam Dubey to bowl because of the impact player rule. This will have a huge impact on the development of all-rounders.
