Record for fastest 1000 overs in IPL 2024
Leaders Online Desk: A new feat has been achieved in IPL 2024. 1000 sixes have been hit in a season for the third time in IPL history. This historic feat was recorded in just 13079 balls in the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Lucknow Super Giants match. Lucknow all-rounder Krunal Pandya hits 1000th IPL six. It was the 57th game of the season.

Krunal scored 24 runs in 21 balls with the help of 2 sixes at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. He was run out in the 12th over. Krunal completed 1000 sixes in IPL 2024 by hitting the fourth and fifth balls of Jaydev Unadkat's eighth over for two consecutive sixes.
Only three seasons in IPL history have seen 1000 or more sixes hit. Also, for the first time in IPL, 1000 sixes have been hit in less than 70 matches and in less than 15000 balls. 1000 sixes were hit in IPL 2022 in 74 matches and 16269 balls. So many sixes were hit in IPL 2023 in 74 matches and 15390 balls. KKR's Sunil Narine is the player who has hit the most sixes in the current season of IPL. He has hit 32 sixes so far.
