Leaders Online Desk : IPL 2024 Final : IPL 2024 has started with a bang. Due to the Lok Sabha elections, the schedule of the first phase of IPL has been announced. This phase, which will last till April 7, consists of 21 matches. The schedule for the second phase has not been announced yet. But before that, a big information has come out about where the final match of IPL 2024 will be played.
A PTI report said that the final of the Indian Premier League 2024 will be played on May 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second qualifier will also be held in Chennai. It has been informed that the qualifiers and eliminators will be organized at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A senior BCCI official told PTI that the IPL Governing Council has followed the tradition of holding the opening matches and the final matches at the home ground of last year's champions Chennai Super Kings.
Rest of schedule soon (IPL 2024 Final)
It is a tradition to start the IPL and host the final at the home ground of the previous season's champion team. But this tradition could not be followed in Kovid. But last season (2023) the opening and final match of IPL was played only at the home ground of the winning team. According to a PTI report, the BCCI has finalized the schedule of the remaining IPL matches keeping in mind the Lok Sabha election dates and will announce it soon.
It is believed that this could be the last IPL season of CSK star player Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In such circumstances, having the final match in Chennai is no less than a treat for CSK fans. Because if Chennai Super Kings reach the final this season, fans will get to see Dhoni play his last game at home. CSK has made a winning start to IPL 2024. The team has defeated RCB by 6 wickets in the first match.
Playoff Matches at 'These' Two Grounds (IPL 2024 Final)
On the other hand, Qualifier-1 and Eliminator are likely to be played at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium while the second qualifier is likely to be played at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.

IPL 2024 will also be like the previous (2023) season with 74 matches to be played. Last time IPL lasted for 60 days. In IPL 2024, the winning team will be awarded 2 points while the losing team will be awarded no points. In case of a tie or no result, both teams will be awarded 1 point each. Playoffs will be held after the group stage. The third and fourth placed teams in the league stage will play an eliminator match. The Qualifier-2 match will be held between the losers of the Qualifier-1 and the winner of the Eliminator. The final match will then be held between the winners of Qualifier-1 and 2.
