Leader Online Desk: Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been suspended for one match by the IPL governing body. He has also been fined Rs 30 lakh.
Action for what reason?
- Due to slow over rate in this year's IPL competition, action has been taken against Pant for the third time.
- Now he has been suspended for one match due to Delhi's slow over rate in the match against Rajasthan.

A repeat of the old mistake in the match against Rajasthan
Earlier, Rishabh Pant was fined for slow over rate in the matches against Chennai on March 31 and Kolkata on April 3. However, he did not learn from his previous mistake. He repeated the old mistake on May 7 against Rajasthan, which has now led to severe action against him by the BCCI. Now he has been suspended for one match.
IPL issued a statement
IPL has issued a statement regarding the action taken against Rishabh Pant. It says, “Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined. He has been suspended for one match for violating the IPL code of conduct. His team played against Rajasthan in the Indian Premier League. Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs.30. Lakh because it was his team's third offense of the season under the IPL code of conduct for minimum over-rate offenses in 56 Premier League (IPL) 2024 matches. The remaining members of the playing eleven, including the influential player, were individually fined Rs 12 lakh or 50 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is less.
Delhi's appeal was dismissed
“As per Article VIII of the IPL Code of Conduct, Delhi Capitals filed an appeal challenging the decision of the match officials. The appeal was then sent to the BCCI for review. The case is being heard. “And it has been confirmed. The decision of the match official is final and binding.” Due to this, it is clear that Delhi's appeal against the action against Rishabh Pant has been rejected.
