Leaders Online Desk: The 2024 season of IPL is off to a strong start. The first match of the 17th season was played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The first match of the IPL was played at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, RCB won the toss and decided to bat first. RCB's batting looked to be struggling against Chennai's formidable bowlers. However, Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat put on a partnership of over 90 runs to take Bengaluru to 173 runs. In the match, the players of Chennai Super Kings had a great fielding. An incident occurred in the 12th over of RCB's innings while the Chennai players were fielding. Virat hits an aggressive shot off Mustafizur Rahman for a six. However, Virat's shot did not gain momentum as Mustafizur bowled slower. This kept the ball in the infield. This time, Ajinkya Rahane caught Virat by fielding tremendously with Rachin. The powerful fielding of both the Chennai players won the hearts of the fans.

After winning the toss and batting first, RCB captain Faf du Flessis played an explosive innings. Du Flessis hits Deepak Chahar for a boundary. When the RCB car was running smoothly, Mustafizur Rahman braked the car. RCB lost his first wicket as captain on 41 runs of the innings. Du Flessis scored 35 runs with 8 fours. Then in the same over, Rajat Patidar returned to the tent without scoring a single run. Deepak Chahar bowled Glenn Maxwell (0) and Mustafizur bowled Cameron Green (18) in the next over. Virat Kohli tried to recover the innings with a slow innings, but Ajinkya Rahane came in his way. Rahane took an amazing catch of Virat who was trying to play a big shot off the bowling of Mustafizur. As the ball traveled towards the boundary, he took the catch and Rachin Ravindra ran to his rescue. Both completed the catch together. Virat Kohli was dismissed for 21 runs off 20 balls. After this, in the 12th over, Rahman made Cameron Green his prey without Kohli.
