Leaders Online Desk : INDvsENG 5th Test : The final match of the five-match Test series between India and England will be played from March 7 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Some changes have been made in the Indian team for this match. KL Rahul is still unavailable, while vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah is set to make a comeback. The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has released several updates related to the team. The board has also given information about Mohammad Shami.
KL Rahul's performance in the fifth Test at Dharamsala depended on his fitness. But at present he is not well and has gone to London for treatment. The BCCI medical team is keeping an eye on him. Therefore, the BCCI has clarified that he will not play in the last Test match to be held in Dharamsala. KL Rahul played the first Test match of the series. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the fourth match of the series. In the first three matches, he performed brilliantly with plenty of bowling. He was rested for one match as a result, but would return to the team's playing XI in the Dharamsala Test. Bumrah was the leading wicket-taker in the series after the first three matches, but was overtaken by spinner Tom Hartley in the fourth Test at Ranchi. Bumrah has taken 17 wickets while Hartley has taken 20 wickets.
BCCI has given an update regarding Washington Sundar that he has been released from the team. He was part of the Test team, but did not get a chance to play in a single match. In that scenario, he will be seen playing for Tamil Nadu in the semi-final of Ranji Trophy 2024, which will be played against Mumbai from March 2. The board has informed about Mohammad Shami that he underwent surgery on February 26. He had a problem with his right heel. He is recovering well and will soon go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. Mohammad Shami last played for Team India in the 2023 World Cup, but has not played a single match since then and will now be out of the IPL as well as the T20 World Cup.
