India's population at 144 crores; United Nations report | leader









New York : News Agency : India's population has reached 144 crores, in which the share of the population under the age of 14 years is about 35 crores. This information has been revealed in the latest report of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The report claims that India's population has doubled in the last 77 years. The population of India is recorded at 144 crore 17 lakhs in the report.

In the beginning of the year 2023, India surpassed China in terms of population. The population of China is 142.5 crore. In the last census of the Government of India in 2011, the population was recorded at 121 crore. The report states that the risk of sexual violence against women with disabilities in India is 10 times higher than that of men with disabilities. The report also says that men dominate women in physical relations.
