It is made from polymer backing and monolithic ceramic plate. The separate design of the jacket will provide strong protection to the soldiers. The jacket was produced under the supervision of DRDO's Defense Material and Stores Research and Development Establishment at Kanpur. The jacket was tested at Chandigarh. She was successful.
Soldiers will be comfortable and safe to wear this jacket during any mission. The ICW Hard Armor Panel (HAP) of the jacket has an aerial density of 40 kg/m2 and the stand-alone HAP has an aerial density of less than 43 kg/m2, said the Ministry of Defence.
