The International Cricket Council (ICC) is all set for the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in June. The World Cup will be played jointly between West Indies and America from June 2 to June 29. 8 matches will be played in New York during this period. Which includes the high voltage match between India and Pakistan.
ICC has also issued tickets in this regard, the price of which is in lakhs. According to ICC, the price of a diamond category ticket has been fixed at 20 thousand dollars (about Rs. 16.65 lakh). Lalit Modi is angry seeing this. He expressed his feelings by sharing a post on social media.
Tickets start from 25 thousand rupees
No bilateral series has been played between India and Pakistan since 2012 due to political tensions. Since then these two teams have been facing each other only in ICC tournaments or Asia Cup.
Therefore, the craze of the India-Pakistan match has increased a lot among the fans. In such a situation, the ICC also wants to take advantage of this and has kept the ticket price in lakhs of rupees. According to ICC, India-Pakistan match ticket price starts from 300 dollars (about 25 thousand).
Modi lashed out at ICC
In a post shared on X, Modi wrote, 'Shocked to know that ICC is selling Diamond Club tickets for the India-Pakistan match for $20,000. The World Cup is being held in America not to make a profit but to promote the sport and connect the fans. Selling a ticket for $2750 (roughly Rs. 2.28 lakh) is not cricket.
