Chennai : Padma Shri awardee S. from Tiruchirappalli Constituency of Tamil Nadu. Damodaran has entered the election fray as an independent and has already started campaigning by setting up a vegetable stall in Tiruchirappalli's Bhaji Mandai.
Damodaran, who has been working in the field of sanitation for the past 40 years, was honored with the Padma Shri award by the then President Ram Nath Kovind. Stating that the purpose behind his candidature is to transform the city of Tiruchirappalli and the surrounding countryside to make life bearable for the common man, he has set up a vegetable stall in the vegetable market of Gandhi Market in the city. They are campaigning by interacting with voters who can sell vegetables. He says that the association of vegetable sellers is also standing firmly behind him.
