New Delhi, Leading News Service: The central government informed that 46 people died due to heat stroke in the month of May and 11 people died in Maharashtra. Statistics of heat stroke related illnesses and deaths have been released by the central government. According to these government figures, 56 people died in the country due to heatstroke in the last 3 months of summer.
The effects of the heat wave increased during the summer, while the effects of extreme heat were felt across the country, including northern India, in the month of May. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there was a heat wave for the longest consecutive days in May this year. Increasing heat has increased the incidence of heatstroke and heat-related illnesses.
According to government data, Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest number of deaths due to heatstroke at 14. While Maharashtra – 11, Andhra Pradesh – 6 and Rajasthan – 5 deaths were recorded. A total of 24,849 cases of heat stroke were reported in the country. Of this, Madhya Pradesh has recorded the highest number of heat stroke cases at 6,584.
