John Abraham started producing films when he was not happy with his acting. In an interview, he said that he did not have work for many years. The industry ignored him. But he proved himself. He showed that he is not just an action hero but much more.
In 2023, John played the villain in 'Pathan'. It became the biggest hit of his career.
In a podcast interview, John was asked why he decided to become a producer. To this, John said, 'I was not happy with the films I was doing. I wanted a change. My life took a new turn. People started understanding me as more than a bulky man. They saw that I also have a brain. They realized that I can make different types of films. Like Vicky Donor, Parmanu, Batla House.'
When asked if he was happy during this transition, John said, “Yes, I am always happy. I never feel insecure. Before 'Parmanu', I did not work for four years. Many new people came into the industry. I was told that I am finished. But I never stopped working hard. I believe that you just keep working hard, people will definitely see your honesty.”
Let us tell you, John's first film as a producer was 'Vicky Donor'. Sharing his experience of becoming a film producer, John said, 'Vicky Donor was a very different film. When I told the studio that I want to do this film, they were shocked. The film became a hit. I am happy that the industry got an actor like Ayushmann Khurrana.' When asked why he did not work in the film himself, he said that Ayushmann was better for this role.
John said that nowadays in Bollywood, producers don't invest their own money. They go to the studios. The studios invest. The producer just brings the project together. 'Only Yash Raj can invest their own money. Apart from Aditya Chopra, there is no one else who can invest their own money.'
