Veteran writer Javed Akhtar in the film industry recently talked about his habit of drinking alcohol. He told that he was very addicted to drinking alcohol. Due to which he took many wrong decisions in his life. Said that if he had not been an alcoholic and had performed his responsibilities well, things would have been different.
In the third episode of Chill Sesh, Javed Akhtar said, 'I have wasted a lot of time by drinking. I was an alcoholic. I gave up alcohol forever on July 31, 1991. I think I wasted at least 10 years just drinking. If I had used that time properly, things would have been different today.
Javed said, 'I regret the breakdown of my first marriage. I could not save that relationship because of my careless thinking and drinking habit, because when you are drunk, you take decisions without thinking. Fight over things that are not even that big. I have made all these mistakes.
Javed Akhtar was married to Honey Irani in 1972.
Javed further said, 'I would like to advise the youth that if you drink alcohol, then leave it, because today when I look at my life, I feel that apart from drinking alcohol, I have not made any mistake in my life. Have not done.
Javed Akhtar had a second marriage with Shabana Azmi.
Javed Akhtar married Honey Irani in 1972, with whom he has two children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. After joining the film industry, he met Shabana Azmi. Javed divorced his first wife Honey Irani to marry Shabana. However, even after divorce, both of them raised their children together.
