After winning the title of 'Miss World International Ambassador-2022', Priya Parmita Paul thought that she would get good work in the entertainment industry, but here she found most of the casting directors and producers who wanted to take unfair advantage of her. Priya's real and reel life has been full of struggle.

After marriage, she came to know about her husband's affair
I basically belong to Guwahati, Assam. My father is a retired bank manager and my mother is a homemaker. Influenced by Sushmita Sen, I wanted to become Miss Universe. But my dream could not be fulfilled. After completing 12th from Guwahati, I did engineering from Bangalore. During my job, I got acquainted with a Kalinga. We got married after four years. One day, I came to know that my husband is having an affair with some girl. My mental health started deteriorating due to which my performance gradually deteriorated and one day I even lost my job. One day, I felt that this person does not matter at all in my life. I took divorce from him.
After divorce, she turned to beauty pageants
After divorce, I left Bangalore and came to Mumbai. I slowly started preparing for beauty contests. I applied for Miss India. One day I had the crown of Miss India on my head. I couldn't believe it. From here the journey continued and I started preparing for Miss World. I participated with participants from 87 countries and represented India. Meanwhile, I got inclined towards acting. I joined Anupam Kher's drama school. Along with this, I started giving auditions. But I felt that there is a lot of struggle here.
The casting director used to say that we would have to compromise
I met many casting directors during the auditions. Everyone said that you will have to compromise for the lead role. Once a producer said that you have to rehearse for a rape scene. In the rape scene, he will be the rapist and I have to act. I said that I cannot do this. They said that you are not comfortable here, then how will you do it in acting. Anyway, I came back from there.
The producer asked when will she go on a date
A producer asked when will we go on a date. I thought he was joking. But gradually he insisted that we will go to bungalows. I was shocked to hear this. I said that I cannot do all this. At that time the producer said that it doesn't matter, we will work. But after that I did not get any call.
Started looking for the right opportunity
From that day onwards I decided that I will not go anywhere like this. I was also afraid that I might miss out on an opportunity. I decided that I have to work on myself. Every day I audition for a movie or a script. I will keep building my skills and wait for the right opportunity.
I haven't found a real man yet
I have given more than 200 auditions so far. I have met 30 to 35 people in them. I have done some ads and short films. But I have not found such a genuine person yet. Otherwise I would have been working in a film or series right now.
