His children call him Mithun by name: Son Namashi Chakraborty revealed, said – Papa had told me to call him 'Mithun'

Namashi Chakraborty opened up on her relationship with father Mithun Chakraborty. First of all, Namashi told that Mithun's condition is improving. Actually, Mithun was admitted in a hospital in Kolkata a few months ago. He had suffered a brain stroke (ischemic cerebrovascular accident).

Namashi said that when my father is ill, I get very scared. But when he starts scolding me for something, I understand that he is getting better now.

His children call Mithun by name

Namashi told that I and my other siblings are very close to my father. We have never called him dad. We all call them by their names. Namashi tells that since childhood, Mithun had given him permission to call him by his name instead of Dad. In this way, all his children call Mithun by name since childhood. Namashi said that there is a lot of laughing and joking between us.

Namashi was asked who started the trend of calling by name in the house? On this, Namashi explains that it is Mithun who had asked the children not to call him 'Papa'. He told all of us to call him 'Mithun'.

When Namashi was asked what his fondest childhood memories were, he said that he did not have many memories of spending time with his father until the age of nine.

Namashi spoke on bond with father

Namashi said- If I tell the truth, it may seem a bit funny. Actually, I was not able to see him much in my childhood. Because he used to do four shifts. I was born in 1992 and at that time he was at the peak of his career. In 1994, we moved to Ooty and father started a hotel business and also used to shoot there.

There also father used to work in four shifts. When I used to go to meet him in the morning, he was ready to go for the shoot. When he would come at night after pack-up, we would be asleep. I only got Sundays to spend time with him. Namashi told that I have spent most of my time with my mother.

Talking about Namashi's projects, his debut film was 'Bad Boy' released in 2023. It could not do anything special at the box office. These days Namashi is working on a film being made under the banner of Mahesh Bhatt.
