New Delhi; News Agency: Hindu marriage is a sacred process and it should be done according to traditional rituals. The Supreme Court has given a clear opinion that if this is not done, the marriage is not valid. The court also said that marriage is not limited to food, songs and dance, but it should be done by maintaining the sanctity of this ceremony.
The Supreme Court took this view while hearing a petition filed by a couple who are commercial pilots. take B. V. Nagaratna and Nya. Augustine George Christ has said that Hindu marriage is a ritual. He should do it while maintaining his sanctity. A wedding ceremony is not just a ceremony for playing some songs and eating and drinking. Such a marriage is not valid until Saptapadi takes place. Marriage is not a transaction. Family is the basic unit in Indian society. Through marriage ceremony, a man and a woman get the status of husband and wife and start their journey towards creating a family. The Supreme Court further stated that the rituals prescribed under the Hindu Marriage Act are for spiritual purification of individuals. They should be taken just as seriously.
